Ota is a place for anime fans to share what they love. These are the rules that keep it that way. They're the same guidelines you agree to when you sign up in the app.
Zero tolerance
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Ota. Accounts that post it are removed without warning.
What isn't allowed
Hate speech and slurs, harassment or bullying, sexual content involving minors, nudity or pornography, graphic violence, encouraging self-harm, spam, and impersonating other people.
Sexual content involving minors is reported to the authorities. There are no exceptions to this, including for drawn or animated depictions.
Respect creators
Post your own work, or credit what isn't yours. Don't upload anime, manga or art you have no right to share.
Reporting and blocking
Every post, comment and account can be reported, and any account can be blocked. Reports are reviewed and acted on — usually within 24 hours.
Reporting is anonymous to the person you report: they are never told who reported them. Blocking someone stops them messaging you and hides their content from you, and they aren't notified either.
Automated checks
Photos and videos are scanned automatically before they're published. Anything that fails is deleted and never posted. If you think something of yours was blocked by mistake, email ota@socialota.com and a person will look at it.
Your data
You can edit or delete your content at any time, and delete your account and its data from Settings. Our Privacy Policy explains what we store and why.
If someone breaks the rules
Report them in the app — there's a report option on every post, comment and profile. If you'd rather contact us directly, or something urgent needs attention, email ota@socialota.com.
