1. Agreement
These terms are an agreement between you and Emilia Vasileva, based in Bulgaria ("Ota", "we", "us") covering your use of the Ota app and socialota.com. By creating an account you accept them. If you don't accept them, don't use Ota.
How we handle your data is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. Who can use Ota
You must be at least 13 years old. If the country you live in requires a higher minimum age for social media or for consent to data processing, you must meet that age instead. By signing up you confirm you meet this requirement.
You may not use Ota if we have previously removed your account for breaking these terms.
3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content
There is zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour on Ota. Accounts that post objectionable content, or that abuse or harass other people, are removed without warning and without refund.
Objectionable content includes, and is not limited to:
- Sexual content involving minors, in any form, real or drawn. This is reported to the authorities.
- Pornography and nudity.
- Hate speech, slurs, or content attacking people for who they are.
- Harassment, bullying, threats or stalking.
- Graphic violence or gore.
- Content encouraging self-harm, suicide or eating disorders.
- Spam, scams and deliberate misinformation.
- Impersonating another person or organisation.
- Anything illegal where you live.
4. Your account
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current.
- Keep your password to yourself. You are responsible for what happens on your account.
- One person, one account. Don't create accounts to get around a removal.
- Tell us at ota@socialota.com if you think someone else has access to your account.
5. Your content
What you post stays yours. We don't claim ownership of your photos, videos, posts or quizzes.
To actually run the service, you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, resize and display your content inside Ota, and to show it to the people you have shared it with. This licence exists only so the app can function, and it ends when you delete the content or your account — except where someone has already been sent it in a message, or where we must keep it for safety or legal reasons.
You confirm that you have the right to post what you upload, and that it doesn't infringe anyone else's copyright. Don't upload anime, manga or artwork you have no right to share.
6. Moderation
We moderate Ota in two ways:
- Automatically. Every uploaded image, and sampled frames from every uploaded video, are scanned before publication. Content that fails is deleted and never posted.
- By report. Every post, comment and account can be reported from inside the app. We aim to review reports within 24 hours.
We may remove any content, and suspend or permanently delete any account, at our discretion and without notice, where we believe these terms have been broken. Where it's appropriate we'll tell you why, but for serious breaches we may act immediately.
You can also block any account yourself, at any time. Blocking stops that person messaging you and hides their content from you.
7. Things you must not do
- Break the law, or help anyone else to.
- Collect other people's data, scrape the service, or use bots against it.
- Try to access accounts, data or systems you're not entitled to.
- Interfere with the service, overload it, or work around its security or rate limits.
- Reverse engineer the app, except where the law expressly allows it.
- Sell, rent or transfer your account.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account whenever you like, in Settings → Delete Account. That removes your profile, posts, comments and stories. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to the rest.
We may end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop operating Ota.
9. Availability
Ota is provided as it is. We don't promise it will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, and we may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it. We'll give reasonable notice of major changes when we can.
10. Disclaimers and liability
Content on Ota is created by its users. We don't endorse it and we're not responsible for it. You use the service at your own risk.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost data, lost profits, or anything arising from another user's conduct or content. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you're a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
11. Apple
Where you obtained Ota from the App Store, this agreement is between you and us, not Apple, and Apple is not responsible for the app or its content. Apple has no obligation to provide support for it. If the app fails to conform to any warranty, you may tell Apple and Apple will refund your purchase price if any; beyond that Apple has no other warranty obligation. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance or intellectual property claims. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ota after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bulgaria, and the Bulgarian courts have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country you live in.
